Our Chapter Information
Kiamichi Country Chapter was organized on October 10, 1974, in Antlers,
Oklahoma. Mrs. Robert J. Edwards was the organizing Chapter Regent and there
were thirteen charter members present. The name Kiamichi Country was chosen as
representative of this area in southwestern Oklahoma through which the
Kiamichi River flows. The river empties into the Red River in Choctaw County.
The name Kiamichi is derived from both the French and Indian languages meaning
"Red Water."
Monthly meetings of the Kiamichi Country Chapter are held on the second
Saturday of each month. We invite prospective members to attend one of our
meetings.
