What is NSDAR

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, founded in 1890, is a volunteer women's service organization dedicated to keeping America strong by promoting patriotism, preserving U.S. history and supporting education programs.  DAR members fund local scholarships, pioneer historic restorations, and lead volunteer projects in their communities.

May I Join NSDAR

Any woman is eligible for membership who is no less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence.  Admission to members in the NSDAR is by invitation through a chapter.  However, no chapter may discriminate against an applicant on the basis or race or creed.

  How Do I Join NSDAR

Contact our chapter registrar or our chapter regent for guidance in determining if your ancestor assisted the Revolutionary War effort in any way.  The application form may be obtained on-line at www.dar.org. In the Welcome page, select "Membership."
