Blanchard, Oklahoma is a vibrant small town with a long history. Established in 1907, this community has grown from a railroad town to a modern city with a charming downtown business district, picturesque residential areas, nearby medical facilities, and an affordable cost of living. Blanchard is home to many parks and recreational areas, including the Winter Creek Golf and Country Club. The town also has excellent schools with new and recently remodeled facilities, a growing school district of 1800 students, and dedicated teachers and staff. The citizens of Blanchard are proud of their community and take part in many events that maintain its friendly atmosphere.

Every year, thousands of people attend the May Daze festival on the third weekend of May in downtown Main Street. During the summer, there are Concerts in the Park, Movies On Main, Annual Independence Celebration, Annual Bluegrass Festival, Mufflers On Main Car Show and more. The family-friendly fall festival is held on the last Saturday of October and Pumpkinfest is held on Main Street on October 31. Throughout the year, numerous parades are held in local cities and the annual Christmas parade is held on the second Saturday of December. The story of Blanchard began when the Canadian Valley Construction Company sold lots of land in September 1906. The first building was completed by McClain who opened a grocery store. On December 19th, 1906, Blanchard was recognized as a city by the post office department and McClain was appointed postmaster.
