Bill Blanchard had a dream to create a prosperous railroad town in the Township 8 North, Range 4 West, Section 30 of northwestern McClain County. In 1907, the Canadian Valley Construction Company was organized to make this dream a reality. However, the company filed for bankruptcy and the railroad was taken over by the Oklahoma Central Railroad. This railroad also had financial difficulties and was eventually taken over by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe railroads who completed the line.
